In 1968, when our parents decided to create a salad dressing as a unique and personal holiday gift for family and friends, we could not have envisioned that 52 years later we would be able to offer Gabe’s Original Dressing & Marinade Spices and Mama’s Mediterranean Spices to customers throughout the nation.
It seems perfectly fitting that we are relaunching the Gabe’s Gourmet Foods products as online products during the 2020 holiday season. Gabe/Dad is beyond excited to be the personality behind the products and to be working as a family to bring these expertly blended spices into your home, kitchen and beloved recipes.
The photo included in this post is of our parents. They were married for 63+ years before our mother passed away from cancer. We all miss her like crazy every single day and know that she is cheering us on from heaven. She is "the Mama" in the Mama's Mediterranean Spices product so you're getting the spicy side of our mother's culinary genius and personality inside the Mama's blend.
Families are cooking in their homes and kitchens now more than ever. We want Gabe's Gourmet Foods to become part of your cooking traditions. With the seasons changing, we know you'll find creative and delicious ways to use Gabe’s Original Dressing & Marinade as a salad dressing, marinade, dry spice, rub, dip and bread spread. Likewise, Mama’s Mediterranean Spices is amazing as a dry spice, rub, salad dressing, marinade and a spicy addition to any recipe that begs for a little heat that comes with the dried habanero pepper ingredient. Stir the Mama’s packet well to thoroughly blend all eight ingredients for ideal results.
To make a dressing or marinade, follow the directions on the packet label (or watch the video on the video page). Use an entire packet of Gabe’s Original or Mama’s Mediterranean, add your favorite flavor of oil and vinegar, plus pure lemon juice, blend well and enjoy! Depending on the flavor of oil and vinegar you use, you will have a sweet and savory or more tangy and spicy dressing and marinade mix. The dressing can be used on any type of salad you can imagine, your favorite pasta dishes, breads or marinade for chicken, fish, seafood, lamb, wild game and pork. I have added both Gabe’s and Mama’s spices to our holiday turkey, gravy and stuffing recipes, and it is phenomenal!
